Introducing our new Career Support Group 🎯

I’m excited to share that we launched a Career Support Group Coaching Series, designed to help professionals like you find clarity, motivation, and fulfillment in their careers. Aleksandra Czekalska and me will soon host many more of these sessions. Without further ado I will share the learnings of our first session here, so you can use them:

What We Explored Together - with Actionable Tips:

📌 Understanding Your Career Compass We started by discussing the concept of a Career Compass—a tool to align our work with what truly matters to us, helping us navigate toward fulfillment rather than just "working hard."

Takeaway Tips:

  • Write down 3 things that matter most to you in a career (e.g., growth, flexibility, impact).

  • Reflect on whether your current role aligns with these priorities—what’s missing?

📌 Intrinsic vs. Extrinsic Motivation We explored the difference between intrinsic (internal) and extrinsic (external) motivation, understanding how both play a role in our careers:

  • Intrinsic Motivation comes from within—things like purpose, growth, or passion that make you feel fulfilled.

  • Extrinsic Motivation comes from external factors—such as salary, status, or recognition. These are important, but because they’re often outside of your control, they can also lead to frustration if they become your sole focus.

Key Insight: Both are essential, but knowing the difference helps you prioritize what’s truly fulfilling while also managing expectations about external rewards.

Takeaway Tips:

  • Identify 1 intrinsic motivator (e.g., helping others, being creative) and think about how you can nurture it daily.

  • Reflect on 1 extrinsic motivator (e.g., a promotion or raise)—ask yourself: "Am I chasing this for the right reasons, and is it realistic right now?"

📌 Discovering Our Core Values We examined our values and learned how they act as a personal North Star. Fulfilled values drive satisfaction, while ignored ones create frustration. Participants found it empowering to connect their careers to their values.

Takeaway Tips:

  • Pick 1 core value (e.g., creativity, integrity, freedom) and think of a small action to live it out daily.

  • Ask yourself: "What’s one moment in my career when I felt truly fulfilled—and which this value was being honored?"

  • Reflect how fulfilled is this value 0-100% in your life right now, then reflect how would it feel if the value was fullfilled 100%, take a moment to feel it in your body.

📌 Finding What We Love (Ikigai Exercise) Through (western adaption) of the Japanese concept of Ikigai, we reflected on tasks we love doing and activities that energize us. Participants discovered that joy often lies in small, overlooked moments.

Takeaway Tips:

  • Jot down 3 tasks or hobbies that make you lose track of time.

  • Notice which work activities energize you vs. drain you—how can you do more of the energizing ones?

📌 Vision Exercise – Seeing Your Future Career We closed with a powerful visualization of our careers at their peak. By imagining ourselves at the end of our careers, participants envisioned their legacy and impact, sparking new clarity about what matters most.

Takeaway Tips:

  • Write down one sentence that summarizes the legacy you want to leave behind in your career.

  • Think of one step you can take this week to move closer to that vision.

I am happy to see how powerful it is to pause and reflect on what drives us. That’s why we created the Career Support Group—a space to connect, gain clarity, and move forward together.

The feedback that touched me most was: "I realized I’m not alone—others are going through the same struggles!"

This group is about community and meaningful conversations. If you’re ready to explore your career direction in a supportive space, join us for the next session on april 1st 6pm
